I’ve been writing a lot of poetic prose lately, so I thought, why not just write a poem? I decided to write a poem for you guys about my favorite word. This word, “rapture”, means a state of great joy (ha! Joy!), delight, or love. So here is my ode to my favorite word and why I love it so much.
Rapture
Sounds like wonder
Speaks of joy
Fills me with curiosity
Rapture is
sunshine
poetry
friendship
love
in a single word.
Rapture
It captivates me
Pulls me in
like a whirlwind of emotion
Rapture
Carries me on golden wings
To states of happiness
Unheard of before
Rapture
I cannot speak enough
of my love
to the wonder
you hold in your letters.
